Alia Bhatt promises powerful acting in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', trailer drops today

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is set to take her acting skills to a new level through her upcoming Hindi film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', the trailer of which was released by the makers on Friday.

Bhatt, one of the leading Hindi film stars, plays a brothel owner in the film directed by ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The movie is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' about Gangubai Kathiawadi, a brothel owner and matriarch.

The film marks the first collaboration between Bhansali and Bhatt.

It is produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada under their respective banners Bhansali Productions and Pen India Limited.

'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is slated for Feb 25 release.
