Akshay Kumar donates Rs 1 crore for school at Jammu Kashmir's Bandipora near LoC

Bandipora/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar on Thursday donated Rs 1 crore for the construction of a school building at Neeru village in Tulail along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Sources told news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Kesari actor donated Rs 1 crore for the construction of a school building after he visited Neeru village today afternoon.

People in the area welcomed Kumar with roaring applause and cheers. He spent some quality time with children and locals and clicked pictures with them.

Neeru village is located near the Line of Control in remote Tulail valley of Gurez sector.

“He interacted with the Jawans of Army and BSF at Neeru to boost their morale. He also danced with locals at a function organised by the BSF unit posted there,” sources added.

BSF posted a video of the fun moments the Bandipora unit had with Akshay Kumar, who joined the jawans performing Bhangra and danced with them with equal fervour.

The actor took to Twitter to share some glimpses of his "memorable day" with the BSF unit.

"Spent a memorable day with the @BSF_India bravehearts guarding the borders today. Coming here is always a humbling experience… meeting the real heroes Heart suit My heart is filled with nothing but respect," he wrote.
