In Raktabeej, which had a run in the box office for over 100 years, Victor Banerjee's character was modelled after former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Abir had played a probe officer and Mimi a cop.

As per sources, actor Ankush Hazra, who had featured in an item dance and also played a surprise and crucial cameo in the first installment, is likely to continue in Raktabeej 2.

The film is scheduled for a release in this year's Durga Puja.
