Youth killed in Kashmir firing

Srinagar, Nov 7 (IBNS) A youth was killed after Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) allegedly used tear smoke shells and opened fire on protesters at Zainakote area of HMT in outskirt’s of Srinagar city on Saturday evening.

According to reports, some youths were protesting against curbs imposed to foil ‘Million March’ called by Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Eyewitness told IBNS on phone from Zainkote area that 44 bn CRPF used teargas shells and opened few shots in air to disperse the protesters resulting in injuries to at least two persons at Zainakote area.

However, sources said that one among the two youths sustained serious injuries.

Gowhar Dar, 22 year-old an Engineering Student of Mustafa Abad in HMT was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura where he succumbed to injuries.

Pertinently, authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar city from Friday on the eve of Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s visit at SK Stadium where he announced 80,000 Corer economic package.
