Srinagar/UNI:  A youth was injured when security forces fired at a vehicle after it allegedly jumped two checkpoints despite being signalled to stop in central Kashmir district of Budgam on Wednesday.

A senior police officer said that the vehicle was signalled to stop at a checkpoint established by CRPF personnel in Narbal Kawoosa in Budgam.

“The vehicles jumped this checkpoint and another one established at a distance following which security forces fired at the vehicle,” he said, adding a person onboard was injured.

He said the injured was taken to a hospital.

“Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” he added.
