Yashwant Sinha, AAP's Sanjay Singh detained for protest over migrants' situation

New Delhi/IBNS: Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha and some Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders were detained in Delhi on Monday after they sat on a dharna at the Rajghat over the migrants' condition.

Besides Sinha, AAP's Sanjay Singh and others have been detained too.

According to reports, they were demanding that the armed forces be called in to help migrant workers reach their homes.

This comes as the country entered the fourth phase of the lockdown during which the Centre imposed a curfew from 7 PM to 7 AM in order to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Sinha had reportedly sat on Dharna at 11 AM.

They were demanding that proper arrangements be made for moving stranded migrant workers back to their states.

Since the announcement of the first phase of nationwide lockdown on Mar 25, the migrants have been the worst-hit, who were left jobless and shelterless. They were forced to set out on foot for their hometowns until special trains and buses were arranged for them.
