New Delhi/IBNS: After a clash with the marshals in Lok Sabha on Monday, the Congress has alleged that two of its women MPs were manhandled in the lower house of the parliament, media reports said.

The Congress members clashed with the Marshals after Speaker Om Birla ordered the forcible removal of two MPs of the oldest party from the lower house.

Following the clash, Congress interim president and MP Sonia Gandhi made the allegations against the security personnel.

The two MPs were from Tamil Nadu, Jothimani and Kerala's Ramya Haridas.

Jothimani said as quoted by NDTV, "It is sad that Ramya Haridas and me were manhandled, we have lodged complaint with the speaker."

"We have never experienced this inside parliament. We will be waiting to see what action is been taken against responsible people," Congress' Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said as quoted by NDTV.

Earlier, the Congress MPs had stormed into the well of the house protesting against the alleged murder of democracy in Maharashtra.
