New Delhi, Apr 30 (IBNS): The woman who has accused Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi of sexual harassment on Tuesday said she was withdrawing from the "in-house proceedings" of the three-judge panel looking into the case.

In a statement to the media, she said: "I felt I was not likely to get justice from this committee and so I am no longer participating in the 3 Judge Committee proceedings."

The three-judge bench comprises Justices S.A. Bobde, Indu Malhotra and Indira Banerjee.

According to NDTV, the woman said she had taken part in the proceedings even though it was an "in-house committee of sitting judges junior to the CJI and not an external committee as I had requested".

She said: "...atmosphere of the committee very frightening and I was very nervous because of being confronted and questioned by three Supreme Court Judges and without even the presence of my lawyer/support person."

The former Supreme Court employee also alleged the proceedings were neither video recorded nor was she given a copy of her statements,

Earlier, Justice Ramana, who had been named one of the members of the in-house probe panel investigating the sexual allegations against Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, has recused himself after the woman said he was a family friend of the CJI. Justice Indu Malhotra replaced him on the panel.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi has denied the allegations.
