Woman gang-raped in moving car in Assam’s Nalbari district; police arrest five people

Guwahati, Oct 26 (IBNS): Police have arrested five people, who allegedly raped a married woman in lower Assam’s Nalbari district.

According to the reports, the incident took place while the victim was on her way to a market in Nathkuchi village under Tihu police station on Wednesday evening.

When the victim on her way to the market, five persons stopped a Maruti Alto car bearing registration number AS-01DG-3056 and forcefully dragged the woman inside the car.

The woman was gang-raped by the five people in the moving car.

After committing the crime, the culprits dumped the woman near a forest area at Korkabari of the district.

Later, locals rescued the woman and informed local police.

“After receiving information about a rape incident, we had rushed to the area and rescued the victim. We had also arrested five persons who allegedly raped the woman and seized the vehicle used in the crime,” a police official said.
