New Delhi, May 19 (IBNS) The Congress may have been routed by the results in the assembly polls of five states, but party vice president Rahul Gandhi is unwilling to surrender as he said that he will continue to be patient and is hopeful of winning back the confidence of voters.

As news of loss in Assam and Bengal did the rounds, Rahul tweeted, "We accept the verdict of people with humility. My best wishes to the parties that have won the elections."

"We will work harder till we win the confidence & trust of people," he added.

Gandhi also congratulated the Congress workers for their hard work during the campaign.

"I take this opportunity to thank every Congress worker and leader and our allies for their effort during these elections."
