Will clinch over 26 seats in the first of Bengal polls: Amit Shah

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party will clinch over 26 seats in the first phase of Assembly polls held in West Bengal.

People voted in 30 seats in the politically crucial state on Saturday.

West Bengal is witnessing a strong political conflict between the ruling Trinamool Congress and BJP to win the turf.

"In the first phase, the BJP is winning more than 26 out of 30 seats in Bengal," Shah said.

"Our seats are also increasing and the margin of victory is also increasing," he said.

He also predicted that the BJP will win 37 out of 40 seats, which went to polls in the first phase, in Assam.
