West Bengal: Police make elaborate arrangement on Hanuman Jayanti to ensure peace and security

Kolkata, Mar 31 (IBNS): After the Ram Navami clashes, the West Bengal police have made elaborate arrangements on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday to avoid any untoward incident in the state, media reports said.

Like the Ram Navami processions, arms are banned on Hanuman Jayanti as well.

Additional forces have been deployed in each district of the state.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who returned from Delhi a day ago, held meetings with several officials over the law and order situation in the state.

Ram Navami, whose processions were carried out by both ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state, turned violent in Raniganj and Asansol.

The clash in Raniganj left one police man and another person dead, according to media reports.
