West Bengal Minister Madan Mitra granted bail

Kolkata, Oct 31 (IBNS) West Bengal Minister Madan Mitra, who was arrested in connection with the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam, was released on bail on Saturday,media reports said.

After spending nearly 11 months, he was released from prison.

Mitra was granted conditional bail on a bond of Rs 2 lakhs.

The CBI failed to produce the case diary.

The CBI lawyer was absent in the second half of the hearing.

Mitra has been asked to submit his passport and all other necessary documents. He has been asked to co-operate in any further hearing in the near future

After a marathon 5 hours of questioning CBI arrested Madan Mitra on Dec 12 in 2014 in connection with the scam.
