West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee announces film city in Purulia

Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the setting up of a film city in her state's Purulia district, a destination for the tourists.

Banerjee, who was in Purulia for her administrative works, Tuesday said, "People from outside used to come to Purulia for cinema's shooting. We have decided to set up a film city in Purulia like there is in Hyderabad."

Purulia, which is one of the 23 districts of West Bengal, is popular for its Joychandi Hills, Ajodhya Hills et al.

Presently, hugely popular Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan is busy shooting in the hills of north Bengal for her next film.

Kareena's actor sister Karishma Kapoor was also present in the state's capital Kolkata for her own works in a film.
