Malda/UNI: Police on Saturday began an inquest after two kids were allegedly tortured to death in the name of exorcism by two tantrick after four boys fell sick in their home after returning from play in West Bengal's Malda district, official sources said.

This happened at Kodomtally village under Gajole block on Friday evening.

Eye witnesses said, all four boys had complained of sickness to their respective parents after they returned home from play on Friday evening.

The parents got together and discussed about the illness between them and then called two tantricks to cure their sons.

The trantriks exorcised nearly two hours on the kids, where the condition of one of them, age 7, worsened and he was declared brought dead on the arrival at the Malda Medical College and Hospital.

Three other kids were taken for admission into the same hospital where one of them died last night.

Local people agitated over the death called police.

The two tantricks, however, fled before people began to look for them.

The two other kids were kept in an isolation ward.
