West Bengal: 10 killed, three injured in four road mishaps

Kolkata/IBNS: At least 10 persons were killed and three others were seriously injured in four road accidents that took place in four different districts in West Bengal on Friday, reports said.

According to reports, a speeding car crashed into a dumper from behind on NH 31 in Birpara area in north Bengal's Alipurduar district in the wee hours, leaving its five passengers dead and another seriously hurt.

Meanwhile, a middle-aged couple was killed after their motorcycle was hit by speeding dumper in West Medinipur's Kharagpur town.

Third incident was reported from Bagbari area in Hooghly district where three persons were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between a scooter and a truck on Tarakeswar-Baidyabati Road at around 11:45 am.

In North 24 Pargana's Nimta, a truck suddenly overturned, leaving a person seriously injured.
