Khargone, MP, June 2 (UNI) Two persons were killed and as many injured by lightning, which – accompanied by storms – caused considerable loss in this district on Sunday.

“The deceased were identified as Bandera Malya Khedi’s Shubham (14) and Bagod’s Raju Maratha (55). A woman and a child were hurt; a couple of animals perished.

The roofs of approximately 80 dwellings in more than half-a-dozen villages were blown off, trees and power poles damaged thereby affecting electric supply to numerous hamlets.

Revenue officials have commenced work relating to damage assessment and disbursal of relief amounts,” Collector Gopal Chandra Daad said.
