WB: Man caught with bodies of woman. child in bag

Kolkata, Aug 29 (IBNS): One man was caught by other passengers on Saturday while he was allegedly trying to throw bodies, which he was carrying in his bags, into river Ganges from a boat in Hooghly district of West Bengal.

The man was identified as Samaresh Sarkar.

One senior official of Hooghly district police told IBNS: "Samaresh Sarkar, who works in a bank, was travelling on a boat with three bags to Sheoraphuli in West Bengal's Hooghly district from Barrackpore jetty. He tried to throw those bags into the river Ganges when other passengers caught him. Bodies of two women including a child were found from those bags."

He was later handed over to the police.

The deceased have been identified as Sucheta Chakraborty and Rupanjana Chakraborty.

"The man is being interrogated and he confessed that he had committed the crime," the police official said.
