WB: Major fire in Murshidabad Medical College, two feared killed, several injured

Kolkata/Murshidabad, Aug 27 (IBNS): Several people were injured in a massive blaze that broke out in Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal on Saturday afternoon, sources said.

According to unconfirmed reports, at least two persons were killed in the fire.

The reports said  the fire was first seen around 12:30 pm. inside the male surgical ward in the first floor of the hospital building.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and started fighting the blaze after evacuating the building.

The  firefighting operation is still  underway.

However, Government officials have not so far accepted the authenticity of  the casualty report.

More details are awaited.
