War of Words: Rahul Gandhi, Nirmala Sitharaman exchange barbs over Budget speech

| @indiablooms | Feb 01, 2020, at 04:34 pm

New Delhi/IBNS: As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over the length of her budget speech, the BJP leader gave him a strong reply by saying that her speech focussed on schemes which will benefit the youth of the nation.

Slamming the Minister, Gandhi told media: "Our youth want jobs. Instead they got the longest budget speech in parliamentary history that said absolutely nothing of consequence. The PM and FM both looked like they have absolutely no clue what to do next."

"I agree that my budget speech was lengthy but in the speech, I had focussed on and spoken about the schemes for employment for the youth, as well as benefits to them," Nirmala Sitharaman was quick in her reply when she told media while responding to Rahul Gandhi's comment.

Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on Saturday.

This was her second Budget speech.
