The assembly polls in Punjab is slated for 2017.

Gandhi said that he wants to gift Punjab a different kind of government, people who will actually address the problems faced by the youth and farmers of the state.

"We want to gift Punjab a different kind of government. A government that will listen to the youth. A government that will address the problems of farmers here," Gandhi said.

Taking a dig at the incumbent government, Gandhi said that they are overlooking the problems imposed by substance abuse in the state.

"Akali Dal is not paying attention to the problems of drug abuse. The kind of treatment the issue should have received isn't up to the mark. They have not been able to eliminate the drug problems here," he said.

Promising a change in scenario, he said that "When we will come to power, we will take swift action against drug problems. You will see a visible change within months."
