Bhopal, Feb 24 (IBNS) The Vyapan noose tightened on Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav as a special task force on Tuesday registered an FIR against him in connection with the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.

The scam is about manipulation in the selection process for government jobs conducted by the MPPEB by indulging in irregularities in the examination for the recruitment of grade ll and grade lll contractual teachers.

The STF, which has been probing the case, earlier lodged two FIRs against former technical education minister Laxmikant Sharma and 129 others, which is being probed by the STF.

The governor came on the radar of investigating agencies following his son, Shailesh's involvement in the scam.

On Friday, a division bench comprising Chief Justice A.M. Khanvilkar and Justice Alok Aradhe, gave the go ahead to the STF to initiate necessary action against the dignitary after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) monitoring the investigation into the scam, submitted two sealed envelopes.

The first envelope contained the name of a highranking dignitary while the second contained the status report of the STF investigation into the scam.

chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is being sought to be nailed on the issue by the opposition, on Sunday rejected demands for his resignation. He also denied any talk of differences between him and prime minister Narendra Modi.

"There were 3,58,490 recruitments done by MPPEB. Of these, the alleged irregularities were found in 228. The scam was exposed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan and not by Congress or media," Chouhan said.
