Voting is underway in the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly polls

Voting in the first phase of the Jharkhand elections is currently underway where fates of candidates across 43 seats will be decided.

People queued up and voted from 7 am in the morning.

The remaining constituencies will vote on November 20.

Over two hundred companies of security forces have been deployed in the state for voting.

The battle in the state is between ruling INDIA, helmed by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), and the BJP-led NDA.

According to reports, more 1.37 crore voters can choose their representatives during the day from a pool of 683 candidates, 73 of them women and one candidate from the third gender.

Seraikella, Jaganathpur, and Jamshedpur East are going to be some of the major constituencies that will be polled in this phase.

The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
