Venkaiah Naidu inaugurates houses, launches Swachh App and online portal in Rajkot

Rajkot, Jun 8 (IBNS): Union Urban Development Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday inaugurated 1538 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and launched the Swachh App and online portal.

"#VikashParv Very happy to inaugurate 1538 houses in Rajkot sanctioned under PMAY. Total units sanctioned are 6488," Naidu tweeted.

"Rajkot is showing d way 2 othrs in d use of PPP model. 2700 houses r constructed wid no added financial burden 2 beneficiaries & corporation," he added.

Naidu also received a memento of Mahatma Gandhi from the Mayor of Rajkot.

"Glad 2 receive a momento of Mahatma Gandhi ji by Rajkot Mayor. Gandhi ji did his primary and secondary edu in Rajkot," he said.

Inaugurating the Swachh App for Rajkot Municipal Corporation, he tweeted, "#VikasParv launched Swachh App and online portal for Rajkot Municipal Corporation."

The app will enable users to geotag photos of garbage and litters and inform the municipal corporation for necessary actions.

"Through Swachh App, Citizens can geotag the location and send the garbage photos to Municipal Corporation for necessary action. The online portal allows for booking of 27 community halls and Investors facilitation," the Urban Development minister said.

Naidu also complimented the citizens of rajkot for voluntarily taking up the job of painting the walls.

"Rajkot walls painted with beautiful pics. Compliments to citizens for voluntarily taking it up," he said.

"Learnt that 6000 such paintings are done across the city by forming local associations. Kudos...," Naidu said.
