Vande Bharat's launch post terror attack shows our resolve towards development: Goyal

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) A day after the Pulwama terror attack, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said India is progressing on the path of development and the launch of semi high speed Vande Bharat Express shows that 'we will not sit back after such deadly attacks.’’

On-board the newly-launched train, the Minister said, 'Attacks like Pulawama will not deter our spirit. We are on the path of development. To take India forward, the train's launch was not postponed.’’

About the new train, which is currently running at 130 km/hr speed, he said, 'More such trains are scheduled for future. As of now, a total of 100 such trains are planned for production, of which tenders for 30 have been invited.’’

More trains like Vande Bharat Express will run across the nation. The tacks will be upgraded on this route(New Delhi-Varanasi) soon and speed of 160 km/hr-180 km/hr will be reached, t the Minister added.
