Toronto, Apr 22 (IBNS): A van ploughed through pedestrians in Toronto this afternoon in what police are calling a “terror attack”, killing three and injuring several others, media reports said.

A suspect is in custody and the van has been located, Toronto police media representative Gary Long said.

Seven victims have been taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The hospital was unable to provide details on the severity of injuries.

A large presence of Toronto fire, police and EMS personnel are on the scene, Powell said.

The incident happened in North York at the intersection of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue, the police said.
