Uttar Pradesh: Precious idols stolen from Ram Mandir in Garhwa

Garhwa, May 6 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants stole three precious idols from the Ram Mandir located at Kharondha village under Kandi Police Station area of this district.

The villagers said, all the stolen idols of Lord Ram, Mata Janki and Laxman were made of ashtadhatu (an alloy comprising eight precious metals). People said that yesterday night the thieves broke the lock of the temple and decamped with the idols.

The incident came into notice today in the morning when the priest opened the doors to perform the morning 'aarti'. As the news spread a large number of people gathered at the temple.

Later a police team reached on the spot and inquired into the incident. Further probe was on.
