Uttar Pradesh: Illegal arms factory busted, 3 held

Ballia, Apr 2 (UNI) An illegal arms factory was busted and three peddlers were arrested in the Narhi police station area in this district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Devendra Nath here said that acting on a tip-off, police from the area concerned raided an arms factory operating at the Harpal Thakur Sikandarpur village on the banks of the Ganga river.

Seven 'tamanchas' country-made pistols of 315 bore, three cartridges of 315 bore, six cartridges made of 315 bore and equipment used in the making of illegal arms were recovered from the spot.


The accused have been identified as Aurangzeb Ansari, Govind Rajbhar and Sunil Gond who were arrested from the spot.


During interrogation, the accused said that they supply illegal arms in UP as well as Bihar.


Nath said that a case under the Arms Act has been registered against the three accused.
