Uttar Pradesh: Gas cylinder explodes in Auraiya, 2 dead

Auraiya, Apr 26 (UNI) Two women were killed and as many sustained serious injuries, when a gas cylinder exploded in Chikta Gulalpur village, under Erwa Katra Vikas Khand near Kahijhari in this district of Uttar Pradesh, on Friday.

According to police, the deceased were identified as Raja Beti (50) and Rajrani (45). The women had gone into the kitchen, to prepare food.


As soon as they lit the gas, two cylinders kept there caught fire and burst with a loud explosion. Both Raja Beti and Rajrani were killed on the spot due to burn injuries, whereas Mithlesh Kumari (40) and Sunita Devi (35), sitting nearby, were critically injured in the mishap.


The injured have been referred to Saifai for further treatment, where their condition continues to be critical.


Raja beti's son Mukesh's wedding was to take place soon.
