Uttar Pradesh Crime: Youth stabbed to death, 2 injured in group clash

A youth was stabbed to death and two others were injured during a clash between two groups allegedly over land dispute in Saraikhwaja area of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Friday.

The sources said that the incident took place in Hamjapur village on Thursday night when two groups of Ravi Shanker Chauhan and his relative Rajesh Chauhan clashed over land dispute.

"During clash Anurag Chauhan (20) was stabbed to death, his father Rajesh Chauhan (45) and cousin Suman Chauhan (23) were injured," they said.

Police sources also said that the injured were taken to the district hospital from where they were referred to a trauma center at Banarash Hindu University (BHU) in a serious condition.

Inspector Satish Kumar Singh said that one person was killed in the incident.

"The police have arrested four persons, including Ravi Shanker Chauhan, and force has been deployed to maintain law and order," he said.
