Uttar Pradesh: Arms supplier of Khalistani militants arrestedÂ
Lucknow/UNI: The sleuths of the Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday arrested an alleged arms supplier to Khalistani militants, official sources said.
According to ATS sources, the man identified as Javed, hailing from Kithore in Meerut, was wanted by the Punjab police. Just in last few months, ATS and Punjab police in joint operation had arrested many miscreants involved in Khalistan movement and were active in the Western Uttar Pradesh.
The Punjab police would take transit remand of Javed and will produce before the magistrate in Punjab for his custody and will proceed the further investigation.
The accused revealed that he had supplied 35-40 arms to Khalistan militants in Punjab, ATS sources said.
Last week, the ATS and Punjab police arrested Teerath Singh from whom posters of Bhinderwale was recovered. Sources said that the militants were running a 'twenty-twenty referendum' group on facebook and tweeter and members from 180 nations were actively sharing and propagating Khalistan movement.
It may be mentioned that a case of sedition was registered against Javed with the Mohali police in Punjab.
