UP: Three arrested for raping, killing minors

New Delhi, May 30 (IBNS) The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday said they have arrested three of the four accused in the rape and murder case of two Dalit sisters.

Two of the accused were arrested on Thursday while another one was nabbed on Friday.

Another accused is still absconding.

Two Dalit minor sisters were allegedly gangraped and then hanged from a tree at Katra village in  Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

The cousin sisters, aged 14 and 15 respectively, were reportedly missing since Tuesday night.

The victims' family alleged that the police refused to register a a First Information Report (FIR) into the incident.

Later, coming under pressure from angry locals who took to the streets demanding action against the culprits, the police registered an FIR against seven people, including constables of Ushait police station - Sarvesh Yadav and Rakshapal Yadav.

The cops were also suspended.
