UP police allegedly deny help to road accident victims who later succumb to injuries

Saharanpur, Jan 20 (IBNS): Three policemen in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, were suspended after it came to light that they had refused to shift two grievously injured person to the hospital, who later succumbed to their injuries, according to media reports on Saturday. 

The police men allegedly said that the blood of the injured will spoil their car, media reported.

The incident took place in Beri Bagh.

According to reports, a UP 100 patrol vehicle was summoned to a spot where two 17-year old motorcycle riders hit an electricity pole and fell into a deep drain.

The local people, summoned by their screams, pulled them out and found they had grievous head injuries. When the police refused to help, according to reports, the local people took the injured to the hospital but they succumbed to their injuries, reports said.

A three-minute video purportedly showing the policemen refusing help to the injured teenagers later went viral on the social media, reported Hindustan Times. The video shows a young man crying and pleading with the policemen to help them.
