UP officers warned : Chief Minister may call you on landline any time

Lucknow, Apr 28 (IBNS) : In a warning against laxity of duty by public servants, the ,Yogi Adityanath Government in Uttar Pradesh has asked all the officers to expect landline calls from the Chief Minister "at any time"-a move, seen as a round-the-clock surveillance on those who matter the most to achieve the new dispensation's avowed goal to improve the state's law and order situation.

According to an NDTV report, the officers on Friday were put on notice with the warning that the Chief Minister could call them "at any time" on landlines at their offices between 9 am and 6 pm.

Unless  they are able to justify not being able to take his call because they were at work elsewhere, penalties could follow, the report said.

The alert was issued  on behalf of the  Chief Minister by Shrikant Sharma, a senior minister.

The 44-year-old saffron-clad Chief Minister, who after taking over, spoke about a cleaner and better administration, has  launched surprise attendance checks at ministries and cancelled 15 holidays.
