Union Minister V K Singh's wife makes allegation of blackmail

New Delhi, Aug 17 (IBNS) : Bharti Singh, wife of union minister VK Singh, has accused a man in Delhi of trying to blackmail her with secretly-recorded conversations, NDTV reports.

In an FIR, Singh has alleged that Pradeep Chauhan, who is known to her family, recorded her conversation with him on August 6 and then threatened to post it on social media unless he was paid Rs. two crore.

She has alleged that the audio and video recordings had been doctored. 

The minister's wife has said that she is not sure about the content of the clips, but the man is making phone calls  threatening to ruin her husband's reputation.

NDTV quoted the police as claiming that the suspect intended to splice her conversation to distort the content.

General Singh, who retired as army chief in 2012 before joining  the BJP. He is, is Minister of state for Foreign Affairs.
