UDF Candidate Behanan suffers heart attack; condition is now stable

Kochi, Apr 5 (UNI) Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) Candidate from Chalakkudy Lok Sabha Constituency Benny Behanan suffered a heart attack at his residence inThrikkakara in the early hours on Friday.

He was immediately taken to a private hospital at Kakkanad where he had undergone angioplasty, party sources told UNI.

The condition of Mr Behanan is now stable and had been put under observation by the doctors for 48 hours, the sources added.

The 67-year-old Behanan was presently holding the post of UDF convener.
Benny is pitted against LDF candidate and leading Malayalam actor and sitting MP Innocent and BJP leader A N Radhakrishnan in Chalakkudy Constituency.
After hectic election campaign during the entire day, he reached home late in the night yesterday, the sources added.
