Two women devotees electrocuted, 20 injured in Sonebhadra

Sonebhadra, Aug 5 (UNI): Two women Kanwariya were electrocuted, while 20 others were injured after they came in contact with a high power line in Jugail area in Uttar Pradesh's Sonebhadra on Monday.

Police sources here said that a group of Kanwariyas was on their way to offer prayers in Gothani Shiv temple near Chopan barrier, when their vehicle came into contact with a high power line near Khewna turn.

More than 24 women kanwariya were injured in the accident.

The devotes were rushed to the hospital, where Rani (17) and Khushbu (17) were declared brought dead.

Three of them were referred to Varanasi trauma centre, while others were getting treatment in the district hospital.

Senior police and administrative officers rushed to the spot, after getting information.

The officers were instructed to provide every possible medical help to the victims, the sources added.
