Two NDFB(S) militants nabbed, IED recovered in Assam

Guwahati, July 12 (IBNS) : Security forces on Sunday apprehended two militants belonging to NDFB(S) from Assam's Kokrajhar district, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, troops of the Army and the police had jointly launched an operation at Titaguri area in the BTAD district and nabbed the militants.

The nabbed militants were identified as Gautam Basumutary and Sankang Basumutary and security forces recovered one pistol, a hand grenade, five rounds live ammunition and other war like stores in possession from them.

On other hand, police on Saturday had recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from Singra Jungle area near NH-36 under Boko police station in Kamrup (Rural) district.

Later army bomb squad team had defused the IED.
