Two Myanmar nationals held with arms in Mizoram

Guwahati/IBNS: Security forces have apprehended two Myanmar nationals and recovered arms and ammunition in Mizoram’s Lunglei district.

Based on intelligence input troops of Assam Rifles Lunglei battalion and police conducted a joint operation along Sekul-Lui river between Zochachua and Vareng village in Lunglei district and apprehended two Myanmar nationals.

Security personnel recovered an automatic rifle with a magazine, 26 rounds of live ammunition in possession from the nabbed persons.

Later, the nabbed persons and recovered arms, ammunition were handed over to Lunglei district police for further investigation.
