Two men arrested in south Kashmir for helping Pakistani terrorist Naveed
Srinagar, Aug 8 (IBNS): Two men have been arrested in South Kashmir for allegedly helping Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Naveed in the days that resulted in the Udhampur attack, media reports said on Saturday.
Both of them were held on charges of giving shelter to Naveed in south Kashmir after he came across the LoC to India nearly two months ago.
Javaid Ahmed Parray, who is a driver, allegedly let Naveed stay at this house in Chursoo Awantipora.
He also ferried him to the spot on the Jammu-Srinagar highway where he attacked a BSF convoy, media reports said.
The other one, named Fayaz Ahmed, a welder in Traal in South Kashmir, has been suspected to have the Naveed operative for six days.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is interrogating the captured Pakistani terrorist, Mohammed Naveed alias Usman in Srinagar as attempts are being made to reconstruct events of how he spent nearly two months in the Kashmir valley.
The Police are also trying to identify the local contacts who have been named during the interrogation.
The security agencies are also trying to find out where Naveed and his accomplice procured their weapons from.
According to intelligence sources, Naveed alias Usman had infiltrated into India along with at least four other LeT terrorists.
After entering India, the group split into two. While three terrorists attacked Dinanagar in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, the other two including Naveed struck in Udhampur days after.

The clues provided by Naveed had led the security forces to a hideout where a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, Tariq was hiding. He was killed in an encounter with security forces three days ago.
Media reports said Naveed's handler in Pakistan, Qasim gave instructions to the terrorist about where to go and whom to meet.
The security agencies are also trying to find out where Naveed and his accomplice procured their weapons from.
Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Naved alias Usman, along with his accomplice Noman had attacked a Border Security Force convoy killing two personnel and injuring eight others. While Noman was killed in the gunbattle, Naveed fled into the forests after taking three hostages.
After he fought a gun battle with security forces, he was overpowered by his hostages.According to intelligence sources, Naveed alias Usman had infiltrated into India along with at least four other LeT terrorists.
