Bhopal/IBNS: Two Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets, Sukhoi Su-30 and Mirage 2000, have crashed during a training exercise over Morena in Madhya Pradesh, media reports said.

The fighter jets had taken off from the Gwalior Air Force base.

Reports said the Sukhoi jet had two pilots while Mirage 2000 had one.

Two pilots are safe and they have been rescued.

Search operation is currently on to find the third pilot, who is missing.

Some videos showed the debris of the aircraft on the ground.

Probe is on to find out whether mid-air collision led to the crash, NDTV reported.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted, "The news of the crash of Sukhoi-30 and Mirage-2000 aircraft of the Air Force near Kailaras in Morena is very sad.

"I have instructed the local administration to cooperate with the Air Force in quick rescue and relief work. I pray to God that the pilots of the planes are safe."
