Two convicted, three acquitted in 2007 Hyderabad twin blast case

Hyderabad, Sept 4 (IBNS): Two people have been convicted by a local court in the 2007 Hyderabad twin blast case, which claimed at least 44 lives and injured 68 others, media reports said.

Akbar Ismail Choudhary and Anique Shafique Syeed have been convicted while three other accused- Mohammed Saddiq Ahmed Sheikh, Farooq and Tarik Anjum- have been acquitted.

The quantum of punishment will be announced on Monday.

Two other accused- Riyaz Bhatkal and his brother Iqbal- are still at large.

The twin bombing had occurred at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat in Hyderabad 11 years ago.
