Meerut/UNI: Two coaches of a passenger train from Saharanpur to Delhi were gutted after they caught fire at Daurala railway station on Saturday morning.

No casualty has been reported in the incident.

According to the official railway sources, fire broke out possibly due to a short circuit, but it was brought under control immediately as the train was standing at the railway station.

Police said that the Saharanpur passenger was scheduled to reach Daurala railway station around 7:10 am and generally daily passengers were standing at the platform.

When the train reached the station, passengers spotted smoke coming out of two coaches, it said.

Railway officials immediately asked the passengers to deboard and fire-fighters were called.

"Though strong winds made it difficult, the fire was controlled almost immediately," police said.

Train traffic on the Meerut-Saharanpur route was affected due to the incident.

Movement of several trains including Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express, Shalimar Express and Nauchandi Express was hit due to fire incident, officials said.
