Two BSF troopers injured in IED blast in Manipur

Guwahati, Aug 8 (IBNS): At least two BSF troopers were injured in a powerful IED blast, which was triggered by suspected militants, at Changubung village in Senapati district in Manipur on Monday.

According to the reports, the blast occurred when a vehicle carrying petrol party of 54 Bn BSF crossed the remote area, adjacent to Nagaland.

The injured troopers were identified as Anil Kumar and Lalji Yadav. They were rushed to nearest hospital.

Senapati District police said that suspected militants triggered the blast targeting security personnel.

On the other hand, a powerful bomb weighing 1.5 kg was recovered at Chingdongyang village in the same district.

Later it was defused inside the Leimakhong army camp.

In another incident, a joint team of Imphal west district police commandos and troopers of 25 Bn Assam Rifles had seized another powerful bomb.
