Gonda/UNI: Two brothers have been arrested here for sending death threat to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, police sources said on Sunday.

The duo had threatened to blow up Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's residence and 50 other vital installations in a WhatsApp message sent to the UP police helpline number last Friday.

An FIR was registered at the Gautam Palli police station and security at the Chief Minister's residence was tightened soon after.

The arrested youth are identified as Swadesh Gaur aka Raja Babu and Manish.

They were tracked down through electronic surveillance. "They have been arrested and are being interrogated," confirmed a senior officer engaged with the investigation.

Swadesh admitted that he had sent the message from his phone. His brother, Manish, was arrested for removing the evidence, the officer said.

Police have recovered the mobile phone from which the message was sent.
