Tripura BJP holds protest march against ruling Left Front government in Agartala

Agartala, Sep 20 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a rally in Tripura's capital city, Agartala, on Tuesday, to protest against misrule of the Left Front government that is currently in power in the state, according to media reports.

Protest marches were also scheduled to be held in the district headquarters.

The state BJP said it has put forth 11 demands and the rally was to highlight them, media reported.

One of the key demands is a CBI probe into the chit fund scams and returning the money to the depositors.

Other demands include proper utilisation of Central government welfare schemes and their implementation, release of salary and benefits to state government employees as per central government payroll, stopping sexual assault on women and CBI inquiry into the Aug 23 turmoil in Agartala, media reported.
