Tracking Indian Air Force's AN-32 transport aircraft: Navy's Long Range Maritime Reconnaisance aircraft P8i joins rescue operation

New Delhi, June 4 (IBNS): Rescue operation is going on to track the Indian Air Force's AN-32 transport aircraft, which went missing on Monday.

The wreckage of the aircraft has not been recovered so far.

Meanwhile, Indian Navy's Long Range Maritime Reconnaisance aircraft P8i has also joined the rescue operation.

" #IndianNavy Long Range Maritime Reconnaisance aircraft P8i takes off from INS Rajali, Arakonam, Tamil Nadu at 1300h and heads for joining the Search & Rescue operation launched by @IAF_MCC to locate the missing #AN32 between Jorhat & Mechuka. Aircraft to reach in area shortly," Indian Navy Spokesperson's Twitter page said in a post.

The flight went missing in Arunachal Pradesh after taking off from Jorhat airbase in Assam.

The IAF is coordinating with Indian Army as well as various government and civil agencies to locate the missing aircraft.
