Torrent Pharma net profit up seven pc at Rs 354 Cr

Mumbai/UNI: Torrent Pharma on Friday reported a seven percent year-on-year rise in its net profit to Rs 354 crore for the quarter ended June 30, this year, on the back of solid sales rebound in Brazil and India.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 330 crore in the corresponding period last year, a company statement said.

The pharma enterprise's Q1FY22 growth stood at 17 percent while the Indian pharmaceutical market rose by 2 percent.

Revenue stood up by 10 percent at Rs 2,347 crore, and gross profit rose by nine percent to Rs 1,687 crore.

The Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) increased by three percent at Rs 742 crore on year-on-year basis.

India revenue was Rs 1,245 crores, up 14 percent, and Brazil revenue rose by 20 percent at Rs 184 crore.

The US revenue went up by 13 percent to Rs 299 crore, and Germany revenue stood down by 18 percent at Rs 214 crores.
