Kolkata/IBNS: The Trinamool Congress (TMC), which rules West Bengal, on Friday welcomed two Darjeeling leaders Binay Tamang and Rohit Sharma to its partyfold.

While Tamang is the former Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) chairman, Rohit Sharma is a former MLA from Kurseong.

The two were welcomed to the party in presence of senior TMC leaders Bratya Basu and Malay Ghatak.

"With the inductions, the TMC will become stronger in the hills. I am sure in future, other prominent politicians in the hills will join us," Ghatak said.
