Three-year-old allegedly sexually abused in Bangalore school

Bangalore, Dec 3 (IBNS): A three-year-old student of a private school in Bangalore was allegedly sexually abused by an attendant, media reports said.

Police said the man accused by the parents was arrested three days ago.

The attendant was arrested by the police after the child’s parents lodged a complaint alleging that the girl was abused at the school in east Bangalore twice - in October and then again in November.

Bangalore saw angry protests by parents over the issue of growing incidents of sexual abuse on schoolgirls since July this year. Thousands of people took to the streets in protest of the rape of a six-year-old girl at Vibgyor International School for which two gym instructors were arrested.

Following the protests, the police had ordered a set of safety measures in August that included installation of CCTV cameras and GPS in school buses.

About 200 schools were booked in September for not following the guidelines, reports said.
